An entry team discusses how to approach the day's work. The EOC is monitoring and controlling the search and rescue efforts. DARTCOM is managing the airwaves. The Army EOD is preparing to shoot the cap off of a simulated pipe bomb. Using a disrupter to neutralize a suspected briefcase bomb.
Work has started on rescuing a victim at the base of the tower. Bring the victim down the traverse line. Preparing to enter the chimney to search for victims. Preparing the snake robot for going down the chimney. Monitoring and guiding the snake robot.
Work progresses for both the tower and chimney rescue teams. Technologists and Responders discussing what they have discovered. Note the innovative way of securing the air blower to the rebar. Uh-ho! The terrorists have been caught in the act creating a hazardous spill. The HazMat command vehicle is ready to respond.
The HazMat insertion team is getting prepared. Cleaning up the toxic spill. Full decon at the HazMat command site. A Responder teaching the Technologists how to create a harness from webbing straps. Making sure the bottom harness is tight.
The traverse line is anchored to a BFT. Tinkerbelle (aka: Jenny Burke) I can fly! Even the DART photographer and webmaster got to have some fun. A first time experience for one of the technologists. Yes! This is fun.
If I flap my arms can I go up the line? Look at those mussels. This is more fun than playing with my robots. Even Dr. Robin Murphy got the show her grace coming down the line. Time to break camp and take everything in.
Jerry sure seems happy the week is over. Bob Dolci commenting on the week's activities. The last speech by Peter Friedland before going home.
